Police believe the victim was shot when he encountered the suspects breaking into cars.

HUNTINGTON, VA—Two DC men have been arrested and charged for the 2016 murder of a teacher's aide in Huntington.
Detectives have been working to identify the two suspects since the May 20, 2016 shooting. Tre’Sur Hawkins, 19, was charged Thursday with first degree murder. He will be taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held without bond.
The other suspect, Charles Benson, 24, was arrested on Sept. 4, 2018 in DC. Police say the arrest wasn't announced "as to not compromise investigative leads" that led them to the other suspect. Benson was extradited to Fairfax County on Oct. 17 and remains in custody.
