35 Residents Displaced By Hybla Valley Apartment Fire
A two-alarm fire at garden-style apartments displaced 35 resident over the weekend, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

HYBLA VALLEY, VA — A two-alarm fire at a Hybla Valley apartment building displaced 35 residents Saturday, according to the Fairfax County and Rescue Department. There were no injuries reported.
Around 10:59 p.m. Saturday, Fairfax County and Alexandria fire units responded to the 7500 block of Republic Court, a garden-style apartment complex. With fire showing from the roof, a second alarm was requested.
There were 35 people in the building when the fire occurred. One resident discovered the fire, evacuated and called 911. Smoke alarms activated in the building.

Fire investigators determined the fire's cause was an electrical event involving wiring to an exhaust fan in the attic. Damages were estimated to be $321,250, according to the fire department.
Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.
