Child Predator Sting Results In 7 Arrests By Fairfax County Police

Detectives posing as children have charged men who allegedly started explicit conversations and solicited sex, police say.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — A sting to catch online child predators resulted in seven arrests, according to Fairfax County Police.

The sting, conducted over several days in December, involved detectives posing as children to catch offenders. Police say offenders started explicit conversations and solicited sex from purported children who were really undercover detectives on internet platforms. After the suspects and undercover detectives agreed to meet, detectives took them into custody at the locations.

The suspects, ranging from ages 26 to 52, were charged with 49 felonies in all.

Danial Siridavong, 33, of Woodbridge, was arrested on Dec. 28 and charged with two counts of use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children and one count of attempted indecent liberties.

Edil Yovani Galvin-Dubon, 35, of Fairfax, was arrested on Dec. 22 and charged with attempted indecent liberties with a minor, 20 second offense counts of possession/reproduction of child pornography with the intent to distribute, four counts of use of communications systems to propose to such child the performance of a sexual act and two counts of aggravated sexual battery related to a 2017 incident.

Moh Shakib Stanikzai, 30, of Alexandria, was arrested on Dec. 22 and charged with one count of computer solicitation of a child under 15 and attempted indecent liberties with a child under 15.

Gilberto Antonio Jarquin-Medina, 26, of Alexandria, was arrested on Dec. 22 was charged with one count of computer solicitation of a child under 15 and attempted indecent liberties.

Zim Mohammad, 23, of Springfield was arrested on Dec. 21 and charged with use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children and one count of enticing a minor to produce pornography.

Ozgur Ozcelik, 35, of Alexandria, was arrested on Dec. 21 and charged with two counts of use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children and one count of attempted indecent liberties.

During the sting, police also arrested David M. Thompson, 52, of Harrisonburg, on Friday, Jan. 6. Police say Thompson attempted to solicit sex from officers posing as children. Thompson was arrested by Virginia State Police and taken to the Rockingham County Adult Detention Center in coordination with Fairfax County Police and the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. He was charged with two counts of child porn production, six counts of distributing child pornography and two counts of use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children.

In light of the child predator sting, Fairfax County Police urged parents to closely monitor their children's online activities and use security settings to avoid inappropriate online platforms. Police say children should report incidents involving inappropriate conversations or being asked to provide sexually explicit images.
