Domestic-Related Shooting Kills 1, Injures 1 In Hybla Valley

HYBLA VALLEY, VA — One person is dead and another is injured in a domestic-related killing in Hybla Valley Saturday.

According to Fairfax County Police, the incident happened in the 7900 block of Janna Lee Avenue. A man was pronounced dead and a woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A person was taken into custody.

According to WTOP, the person was a 19-year-old who shot the mother's boyfriend. However, police believe the shooting could have been self-defense and continue to investigate.

Nearby, the 7800 block of Janna Lee Avenue is also the location of an unsolved July homicide. The victim was attending a July block party, got into a dispute and was shot in the early morning hours of July 5. Police have not made an arrest but recently released surveillance footage of people who may have information.
