Feedback Sought For Richmond Highway Widening
VDOT is looking into widening a portion of Richmond Highway and adding bike and pedestrian areas in Mount Vernon.

MOUNT VERNON, VA—Preliminary plans are developing to widen Greater Alexandria's busiest road, and the public can learn more at an upcoming meeting.
The Virginia Department of Transportation is looking into increasing from four to six lanes between Jeff Todd Way and Napper Road in Mount Vernon. It would affect nearly three miles of the roadway.
Also included in the plan are improvements for bicyclists and pedestrians on both sides of the road, as well as preserving the median width necessary to accommodate Fairfax County’s future planned Bus Rapid Transit.
