Fruit Flies At McDonald's: Greater Alexandria Restaurant Violations

GREATER ALEXANDRIA, VA — Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for local restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Here are some of the violations from recent inspections in mid July. Among the violations were fruit flies at a Springfield McDonald's. The restaurant is following with a pest control company. Earlier in July, health inspectors found flies at a Mount Vernon McDonald's, which was corrected during the inspection.

Also included are restaurants with no violations.
