Groveton Homicide Remains Unsolved 1 Year Later
Detectives have been working to process DNA evidence in the September 2020 homicide of a Groveton man.

GROVETON, VA ā Fairfax County detectives continue to investigate an unsolved homicide in Groveton one year later.
William Scott Miller, 52, of Groveton was found dead by a relative in his apartment in the 6500 block of Tower Drive on Sept. 28. According to police, he was found in his bedroom with multiple upper body stab wounds. Miller lived by himself, and family had last heard from him since three days prior.
Police found no signs of forced entry, and nothing appeared to be taken from the apartment. Detectives are continuing to process evidence from the scene using technology to extract DNA from surfaces.

Anyone with information can contact the Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 2. Anonymous tips may be submitted through Crime Solvers. Anonymous tipsters could receive a cash reward between $100 to $1,000 dollars if their information leads to an arrest.
