Kitty Rescued From Under Vehicle Hood On Richmond Highway
A stray kitten found a helping hand after getting stuck in the engine compartment of a vehicle in Hybla Valley.

HYBLA VALLEY, VA — A kitten that had gotten stuck in the engine compartment of a vehicle on Richmond Highway Monday didn't need to claw its way out. The lucky feline got rescued by Fairfax County Fire and Rescue while also finding a new home.
Units from the Woodlawn station responded to the 7000 block of Richmond Highway in Hybla Valley after a call about the kitten, according to the fire department. Bystanders had noticed meowing coming from a coworker's car and determined a kitten crawled into the engine compartment.
While the bystanders couldn't get the kitten out, fire and rescue units were up to the task. After trying a couple methods, they were able to rescue the cat without injury and no damage to the vehicle.

Fairfax County Animal Protection Police also responded to assist with the animal call. But this stray kitty didn't need to be taken to the animal shelter, as one of the coworkers decided to adopt the kitten. It was truly the purr-fect ending to an adventurous day for the kitten.
