Man Killed In Lincolnia, Body Left In Dumpster: Police
Fairfax County Police have charged two people in the death of an Alexandria man whose body was found in a dumpster.

LINCOLNIA, VA — Two people have been charged in the death of an Alexandria man in Lincolnia in January, classified as Fairfax County's second homicide of 2022. Fairfax County Police say the victim's body was left in a dumpster.
The victim, Ahmed Hasheem Ebrahim, 20, of Alexandria, had been reported missing by family on Jan. 17 after he was last seen leaving for a friend's house on Jan. 15.
Missing Persons Squad detectives learned Ebrahim’s vehicle had been towed on Jan. 18 from a City of Alexandria address. Detectives found blood in the vehicle and upgraded the case to a critical missing person.

Detectives determined Joel Antonio Sarabia, 20, of Fairfax, and a 17-year-old associate planned to rob Ebrahim on Jan. 16. According to police, Sarabia shot Ebrahim while the victim was in his vehicle in the 6200 block of Lachine Lane in the Lincolnia area. Police say Sarabia and his associate took Ebrahim's vehicle and left his body on Jan. 17 in a dumpster in the 3700 block of North Rosser Street in the Bailey's Crossroads area.
On Jan. 20, detectives learned Sarabia was driving Ebrahim's vehicle after the victim went missing. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for unauthorized use of a vehicle and driving without an operator’s license. Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Fugitive Track and Apprehension Unit arrested Sarabia Monday.

Investigations revealed Sarabia and Ebrahim were acquainted. Sarabia was charged with first degree murder, robbery resulting in death, concealment of a dead body and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. The 17-year-old was arrested Tuesday and charged with robbery resulting in death and concealment of a dead body. He is being held at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center.
The investigation into the death continues. Detectives have determined which dumpster Ebrahim's body was dumped in and contacted the disposal services company to determine where the body may have been taken. Detectives have recovered a gun in the investigation and are searching for another gun believed to be in Alexandria.
