Shooting In Hybla Valley Injures 1: Police

Based on preliminary investigation, police believe the victim and suspect are known to each other.

HYBLA VALLEY, VA — One person was injured in a shooting Wednesday morning in Hybla Valley, according to Fairfax County Police.

The shooting happened around 4:41 a.m. in the 3400 block of Great Lakes Street. Police found one man with upper body gunshot wounds. He was take to the hospital with injuries that were life threatening.

Preliminary investigation indicates the victim and suspect know each other. Detectives have identified the involved parties and continue to investigate.

SHOOTING: 5975 Richmond Highway (Red Roof Inn), 11/22/20, 1:11 p.m. A teenager reported she was in the hotel parking lot when two men approached her in a car and fired a gun. She ran inside the hotel and discovered she was suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

RECKLESS DISCHARGE: 7900 block of Fordson Road, 11/22/20, 3:38 p.m. Two men were fighting when one man fired a gun several times before leaving in a truck. No injury or property damage was reported. Shell casings were recovered from the area.

STABBING: 3300 block of Southgate Drive, 11/23/20, 12:33 a.m. Four men were involved in an altercation when Juan Alvarado Contreras, 26, of Alexandria, stabbed another man with a knife. Two men tried to subdue Contreras and were also stabbed before Contreras walked away from the area. Officers found Contreras nearby and he was charged with three counts of malicious wounding. Two of the victims were taken to the hospital for injuries that were not life threatening. The third man was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
