Stratford University Opens its Professional Kitchens for "Chefs in the Making"

This summer for the first time ever, Stratford University will open up its kitchens for junior chefs. “Chef in the Making” is an exclusive culinary summer camp for students ages 10 – 17. Located at Stratford’s premier, state-of-the art professional kitchens at the Alexandria, Virginia campus, this specially designed program enables participants to cook and bake like pros while also learning the basics of hospitality—from table settings and designs, to party planning for a variety of occasions.

For aspiring chefs and food lovers, the Culinary Arts program provides a close-up look at cooking techniques and an opportunity to learn from Stratford’s world-class Culinary Arts Instructors. At the end of the program, each student takes home a small cookbook with all the recipes they created during the program–along with notes from the chef so they can make the dishes at home for their family and friends. Stratford offers two sessions of this culinary camp: Culinary Arts and Baking & Pastry. Both sessions offer Hospitality training as well.
