Summer Concert Series Planned At 2 Mount Vernon District Locations

Mount Vernon Nights is planned at two locations in June, July and August. Woodlawn Press Winery will have wine tasting at one site.

MOUNT VERNON, VA — The summer season has arrived, and that means the return of Mount Vernon Nights concerts at two locations.

Mount Vernon Nights is part of the Fairfax County Park Authority’s Summer Entertainment Series at 18 locations in June, July and August. Concerts will be held at Grist Mill Park, 4710 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway, Alexandria, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Workhouse Arts Center, 9518 Workhouse Way, Lorton, at 7:30 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to pack a picnic basket, blankets and lawn chairs for the free performances. Grist Mill Park performances will include wine tasting and sales from Woodlawn Press Winery. Wine, beer and snacks will be available for purchase at the Workhouse Arts Center performances. Each Workhouse Arts Center show features a stand-up comedian as the opening act before the musical performer.

Mount Vernon Nights is a collaboration between Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck, supporters of Mount Vernon Nights, Fairfax County Park Authority, Fairfax County Park Foundation and contributions from sponsors Dominion Energy, Wegmans, Workshouse Arts Center, Virginia Commission for the Arts, and National Endowment for the Arts.
