Income-eligible seniors will be able to apply for affordable rentals in the Hybla Valley, Franconia, Reston and Falls Church/McLean areas.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — The wait list will open Monday for income-based vouchers for affordable senior housing at four Fairfax County locations.
The Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority announced applications will open for project-based vouchers at four affordable housing locations: The Senior Residences at North Hill in Hybla Valley, The Chesterbrook Senior Residences in the Falls Church/McLean area, The Oakwood Meadow Senior Residences in the Franconia area and Lake Anne House in Reston.
Residents 62 and older will be able to apply through Rent Café from 8 a.m. Monday, July 10 to the end of Sunday, July 16. Eligibility is based on income limits from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Through the project-based vouchers, eligible households pay their monthly rent based on 30 to 35 percent of their adjusted gross income. The remainder of the rent is funded by the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority. Voucher funding is provided through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Project-based vouchers typically become available when new properties open — like North Hill — or when a household moves out of an existing unit.

Applicants will be randomly selected to be put on the wait lists for the properties. Once project-based voucher units become available, wait list applicants will be contacted and screened for eligibility.
