Join us for our monthly OPEN HOUSE featuring a special exhibit: Engines of Progress: Innovation and Trains. Discover how railways revolutionized travel and explore the clever problem-solving—including work by local inventors—that made the tracks safer and better. As an added attraction, the Washington, Baltimore & Annapolis Chapter of the Train Collectors Association will have an operating layout on display.
- Train Layout & Fun: Get an up-close look at an operating model train layout. Young engineers can put on an engineer's hat, sound the bell and whistle, and blow the horn!
- Final Bidding: Place your final bids on a vintage, fully furnished Magnuson "Queen Victoria" dollhouse. Designed by renowned model railroad pioneer Robert Lunde (of Lunde Studios and Magnuson Models), this 1:12 scale masterpiece features his iconic, handcrafted resin-cast brickwork and intricate traditional architecture. Bidding officially closes at 2 PM, 7 Nov! Can’t make it in person? You can view photos, watch a video tour, and place your online bid here: www.sydenstrickerschoolhouse.org/dollhouse/ All auction proceeds directly benefit our upcoming 100th birthday schoolhouse restoration work. Thank you for supporting local history!
