Smoke Closes Some Gates at Dulles Airport
Gates serving United Express were closed Thursday morning as smoke filtered into the air. Dulles Airport officials said there was no fire.

Several gates at Washington Dulles International Airport are closed while smoke is ventilated from the air, the airport says on its Twitter feed.
Officials say there is no fire at the airport.

Dulles officials first tweeted about 9 a.m. Thursday, noting that they were working to locate the source of the hazy smoke that’s visible indoors near the A-gates. The haze is limited to the area near gates A1 through A6 which serve United Express. No other areas are affected.
Passengers are being urged to check airport monitors for their gates after some United Express flights scheduled for A1 through A6 were moved to other gates at Dulles.

Ventilation of the smoke is under way, airport officials said, and they expect to reopen gates A1-A6 soon. That message was tweeted at 9:39 a.m.
