Woodbridge Man Arrested For Annandale Robbery Charged In June 18 Shooting In Herndon Area

A Woodbridge man arrested in connection with a robbery in Annandale has been charged in a shooting on June 18 the McNair neighborhood.

HERNDON, VA — Fairfax County Police have arrested a 20-year-old Woodbridge man in connection with a shooting that took place June 18 in the McNair neighborhood in the Herndon area.

Police responded around 4:09 a.m., for the report of a person being shot in the 2500 block of Cornelia Road. Officers found an adult man in a parking lot suffering from multiple gun shots to the upper body. Police provided aid until fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene. The victim was then transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Multiple witnesses told detectives that they'd heard gunfire and saw a white SUV fleeing scene, according to police.

On June 25, police arrested 20-year-old Zaire Davis in connection with a robbery that occurred June 25 in Annandale. While Davis was being held in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, detectives noticed a similarity between Davis and the composite sketch released in the June 18 shooting, according to police.

Based on evidence recovered and their investigation, detectives linked Davis to the Cornelia Road shooting, according to police.

Police charged him on July 19 with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Acting on a search warrant obtained following Davis' initial arrest, detectives recovered a handgun, revolver, assorted ammunition and electronic devices, according to police.

Davis also faces additional charges from the June 25 robbery in Annandale, including robbery, malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and conspiracy to commit robbery. Davis is being held at the detention center without bond.

Police are still searching for a second suspect wanted in the June 18 shooting. The second suspect is described as a heavy-set white man in his early 20s, with brown and medium-length hair and standing 5-foot-10.
