Hopewell's annual Independence Day Celebration on the Appomattox River will be June 28 and start at 9:30 p.m. The fireworks display will be fired from a barge on the river.
Organizers say the display is best viewed from TriCities Hospital, the Hopewell Riverwalk, the Hopewell City Marina and City Park. Most of the display also will be visible from points in historic downtown Hopewell, too.
