Hole Cut in Business Wall, Coolant Stolen in Manassas: Police

Similar to an incident earlier this week at an area pawn shop, entry into the business was through a cut hole, say Prince William Police.

MANASSAS, VA — Another hole cut, another Manassas business robbed. Seems to be trending in criminal circles these days, and dare we say it resembles a modern-day version of the notorious wild west "Hole in the Wall Gang," but it likely isn't a joking matter for Prince William County Police.

Several days after a similar heist at an area pawn shop, this one happened at Johnston Supply in the 8600 block of Virginia Meadows Drive, where more than 50 cans of refrigerant gas were stolen.

Shortly after 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the business and the manager said the burglary occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police found the thief (or thieves) broke in by cutting a hole into a side wall. One inside, according to police, a pallet with more than 50 cylinders of Rorane R22 refrigerant gas.

In the first incident, thieves broke into the pawn shop Sunday by cutting a hole in the roof and then cutting holes in the backs of two safes, stealing a large amount of jewelry.
