Police Arrest Dumfries Man After Disturbance at Restaurant

Suspect disorderly, tried to re-enter eatery: Manassas police.

A Dumfries man spent the weekend in jail after fighting with a security guard Friday night at a Manassas restaurant, according to police.

At about 11:30 p.m. Friday, Manassas City Police responded to El Damazo restaurant, 10444 Dumfries Road, for a report of disorderly subjects in front of the business, according to a police report.

Upon arrival, officers saw a male subject striking the on-site security guard in the torso. They learned that the suspect, Javier Armando Sorto-Guevara (in photo above), had been disorderly inside the restaurant and kept attempting re-entry after being escorted out by security, the police report said.

Osorto-Guevara, of 7641 McDowell Court in Dumfries, was charged with being drunk in public and with assault and battery. He was held on a $3,500 bond at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center, and he has a pending court date of March 17.
