Police: Gas Station Robber On The Loose

Masked gunman fled on foot after Jan. 14 heist, say Manassas City Police

Manassas City Police are searching for the suspect in an armed robbery last week at an Exxon station on Wellington Road.

On the evening of Jan. 14, the police responded to the gas station, 9901 Wellington Road, where the robbery had occurred 10 minutes prior, according to a police report. The reporting party told officers that at about 7:30 p.m., a male suspect entered the store wearing a blue bandana to cover his face.

The suspect displayed a black handgun and demanded money, to which the clerk complied. The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot towards Sandalwood Drive with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Manassas City Police.

Surveillance images of the suspect were recorded during the incident. He’s described as an Hispanic male in his 20s or 30s, 5-feet-4-inches to 5-feet-7-inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, and wearing the blue bandana, a black baseball hat and a light blue sweater
