Crash Closes Georgetown Pike Intersection For Most Of Day
It was the second day this week downed power lines closed portions of Georgetown Pike in Great Falls.

Update: Georgetown Pike has reopened.
GREAT FALLS, VA—Make that two accidents within the last few days that closed both directions of Georgetown Pike in Great Falls Tuesday.
Police say Georgetown Pike at River Bend Road remains closed since around 10 a.m. There was no immediate word on injuries.

A crash brought down power lines onto the roadway. Dominion Energy is on scene making repairs. According to an outage map, 33 customers remain without power Tuesday afternoon, and repairs will be done by 5 p.m.-10 p.m.
Officers are in the area directing traffic. Commuters should seek alternate routes.

Not far away, a crash Sunday night brought down a power pole and closed Georgetown Pike at Olde Georgetown Court for nearly 12 hours. Police said the road reopened as of 7:46 a.m. Monday.
