Great Falls Bank Robbery: Suspect Charged
Police have arrested a suspect after a Wells Fargo Bank armed robbery Tuesday.

GREAT FALLS, VA—A man is facing charges after an armed bank robbery in Great Falls Tuesday, Nov. 13, according to Fairfax County Police.
The robbery happened at a Wells Fargo Bank at 750 Walker Road around 11:39 a.m. The man reportedly had a gun and handed the teller a note and a bag, demanding money. After getting the money, he followed another customer to her car and demanded the keys to her SUV. The victim surrendered her keys, and he drove toward the back of the shopping center.
A search involving a SWAT team, robbery detectives, patrol officers, the Fairfax County and U.S. Park Police helicopters, and Fairfax County sheriff's deputies followed in the area of Arnon Chapel Drive in Great Falls. Police located the man matching witness descriptions. The stolen car was found abandoned close to the bank.

Christopher Warren Lapp, 60, of Great Falls was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with armed robbery, carjacking and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection with the robbery. He is being held without bond.

The suspect was described as a man around 5 foot 7 to 5 foot 8 and wearing a beige mask, black baseball cap, sunglasses, a beige jacket and dark pants with two blue or purple stripes on the sides.
