Car Crash Kills Pedestrian In McLean: Police
Police say a McLean man died when struck by a car as he was crossing the road.

MCLEAN, VA—A McLean man is dead after a tragic car crash over the weekend.
Fairfax County Police say the man was jogging around noon Saturday, Sept. 30 in the 5900 block of Chesterbrook Road when the crash happened. He was crossing the street when struck by a car.
The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead around 10 p.m. Police identified him as Thomas Porterfield Jr., 73, of McLean.

The driver, an 82 year-old woman, remained on scene to cooperate with police. Investigations show speed and alcohol were not involved in the accident. Police have not charged the driver.
