Dominion Power Volunteers Construct Outdoor Classroom at Franklin Sherman Elementary
The project is part of Dominion's "Energize Our Communities" initiative, which is now in its 16th year.
Dominion Virginia Power employees volunteered their Tuesdays this week to help construct an outdoor classroom at Franklin Sherman Elementary School in McLean.
The project was part of Dominion’s “Energize Our Communities” initiative, and more than 20 employees were on hand to assist in construction.
Together, volunteers built seven learning benches and a raised platform deck with a podium and a table for teachers, all with pressure-treated wood. They also cleared existing grass and installed landscape fabric and mulch on the entire classroom area.
