Drivers Blocking Intersections Could Be Ticketed In McLean
Fairfax County Police are running a "Don't Block the Box" campaign at problematic McLean intersections.

MCLEAN, VA—When you're driving during an already congested rush hour, you might get even more frustrated when you have a green light and cars are blocking the intersection.
Fairfax County Police told WJLA residents complain about the issue every day. That's why police have launched an effort ticketing drivers not following the law, which bars vehicles from blocking the intersection during a red light.
The effort is underway in the McLean Police District, targeting intersections with the most issues, such as Georgetown Pike and Balls Hill Road.

We've all been there: you have a green light but can't move because cars are blocking the intersection. Our McLean District Station will be working to fix the issue all summer long with Don't Block the Box, a campaign to educate drivers about the issue! #FCPD #trafficlaws pic.twitter.com/DbEvGDzwCO
