Feds To Monitor Fairfax County On Election Day
Federal officials will be in 35 jurisdictions across the U.S. to check compliance with voting rights' laws.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA—Fairfax County is among 35 jurisdictions across the U.S. that will be monitored by Justice Department officials to check compliance with voting rights' laws. The department's civil rights division will send personnel to 19 states, including Virginia.
While state and local governments are responsible for administering elections, the department's civil rights division is charged with enforcing federal voting rights laws.
Justice Department's civil rights division staff will be on hand to receive complaints about potential voting rights law violations on Election Day. Residents can call 1-800-253-3931 toll free or 202-307-2767 (TTY 202-305-0082), or send a fax to 202-307-3961.

On Election Day, Fairfax County voters will select their choices for U.S. Senate and members of Congress for Virginia's 8th, 10th and 11th congressional districts. Fairfax County ballots also include a bond referendum and two state constitutional amendments. Visit vote.virginia.gov to find your polling location and sample ballot.
Polls are open from 6 a.m.-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at the county's 243 poll locations. Residents in line by 7 p.m. can vote. A form of acceptable photo ID is required.

- Kusilvak Census Area, Alaska
- Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area, Alaska

- Navajo County, Arizona
- Sacramento County, California
- San Mateo County, California
- DeSoto County, Florida
- Palm Beach County, Florida
- Pinellas County, Florida
- Fulton County, Georgia
- Gwinnett County, Georgia
- Buena Vista County, Iowa
- Ford County, Kansas
- Lowell, Massachusetts
- Malden, Massachusetts
- Clark County, Nevada
- Washoe County, Nevada
- Middlesex County, New Jersey
- Union County, New Jersey
- Erie County, New York
- Benson County, North Dakota
