Get Ready for the McLean WinterFest Parade Sunday

Get ready for WinterFest Sunday in McLean! The parade falls on Pearl Harbor Day and the participants will salute WWII vets, represented by American Legion Post 270 as Grand Marshals of the parade.

Peggy Fox from WUSA/Channel 9 will emcee the parade from the Fairfax County Showmobile, from Langley Shopping Center. Bill DuBose of Vintage Wealth will host the pre-parade entertainment.

Old Chain Bridge Road will be closed to all traffic from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. on parade day.

The road closure for the parade route (Fleetwood Street to Elm Street on Old Chain Bridge Road) Sunday will begin at 2 p.m. and continue until 5:30 p.m. The parade will start promptly at 3:30 p.m. See the parade map here.

Food trucks that have already confirmed their participation in the parade will be:

• Doug the Food Dude
• DC Sliders & Dogs

On-stage holiday acts will again precede the parade stepping off.

This year your photo might win a prize. WinterFest organizers will be judging photos in the following categories:

• Best overall photo of the event
• Best photo of pre-parade entertainment
• Best photo of Parade Spectators
• Best photo of parade entries
• Best photo taken by a child 12 or under
