Heroin Dealer Connected to McLean Teen's Death Sentenced

D.C. dealer sold heroin to McLean High School student, 16, who suffered a fatal overdose.

The D.C. drug dealer who sold heroin to McLean teen Emylee Lonczak, who died after combining the drug with antihistamines, was sentenced last week to 25 years in prison, according to several news reports.

U.S. District Judge Leonie M. Brinkema sentenced Antowan “Smooth” Thorne, 37, on Friday. He was found guilty in August.

You appear to be unable to control yourself,” the judge told him, according to the Washington Post.

Lonczak’s mother was reportedly in the courtroom during the sentencing. Her daughter, 16, died August 22, 2013. Emylee’s body was later found outside a home in the Tysons area after her family reported her missing.

A friend, Kyle Alifom, was sentenced to nearly seven years in prison for tampering with evidence; he did not call for help or contact police after she died and hid her body outside, according to officials.

Emylee was a soccer player and one of seven siblings, including her twin brother. After her death, McLean High School principal Ellen Reilly sent a letter to families, describing her as a ”cherished student.”

“It is with great sadness that I must inform you that one of our students died unexpectedly Friday. Emylee Lonczak was a rising 11th grader at our school,” the letter read. “She was a cherished student who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.”
