Murphy will host a grassroots campaign kickoff and canvass launch this Saturday, Nov. 22 in McLean; stay tuned for details.

Kathleen Murphy and several Democratic lawmakers fired up a packed gathering in McLean Wednesday night to kick off her bid for the House of Delegates. Murphy, a small business owner, former senior Congressional aide and community leader, is running for the open seat in Virginia’s 34th House District, covering Fairfax and Loudon counties, according to a news release from the nominee. Here’s more about the event, from the release:

Murphy assured supporters she would fight for Northern Virginia priorities including security, transportation and education.

“This isn’t my election, it’s ours,” said Murphy. “From day one, I’ll fight for what matters most to our community -- good schools, a safe place to raise our children and the infrastructure we need to grow our economy.”

Barbara Favola and Del. Rip Sullivan, touted Murphy’s goals of easing congestion and securing funding for education.

Building off of the momentum from last night’s event, Murphy will host a grassroots campaign kickoff and canvass launch this Saturday, Nov. 22 in McLean. Additional details on that event are forthcoming. Keep an eye on the campaign’s Facebook page for information.
