McLean Murder-Suicide May Have Been Double Murder: Reports

Police investigations reveal a suspect may have staged the McLean home to appear like a murder-suicide.

MCLEAN, VA—Newly-released details from Fairfax County Police may indicate the July 14 murder-suicide in McLean could simply be a murder. Police search warrants show a potential suspect could have staged the scene of a mother and daughter dead in their home, WUSA9 first reported.

Police had discovered the two bodies in the 6700 block of Dean Drive back in July. Detectives initially determined Helen Lorena Hargan, 23, shot her mother, Pamela Denise Hansen Hargan, 63, before shooting herself.

A second search warrant filed a week after the killings revealed details about another one of Pamela's daughters. According to the warrant, Pamela Hargan's daughter Hargan attempted fraudulent wire transfers from her mother's account the day before and the day of the killings.
