McLean Restaurant Inspections: The Mold Saga Continues

Soda machines could appear clean on the outside, but health inspectors find mold inside the nozzles at local restaurants.

MCLEAN, VA — Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for local restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Here are some of the violations from recent inspections in and around McLean and Tysons. Among the violations was one that appears often locally: mold growing on the soda nozzles at Sweetleaf in Tysons. This was a repeat violation. A similar mold violation had been found just days before at a McLean restaurant.
