Memorial Day 2019: What's Open, Closed In McLean
Some services will be closed for Memorial Day around McLean. Plus see things to do on the holiday.
MCLEAN, VA—Memorial Day is the unofficial summer kickoff, but it's also a federal holiday to remember those who have died serving in the military. Some services normally open on Mondays will be closed on May 27 for the holiday.

Fairfax County government offices: Closed on May 27. There will be no in-person absentee voting at the Office of Elections on May 27.
State offices: Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court are closed on May 27.

Fairfax County Public Schools: Closed on May 27.
Community Centers: McLean Community Center is closed on May 27. Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) programs, activities and facilities will be closed Saturday, May 24 to Monday, May 27.
Fairfax Connector and Fastran: Fairfax Connector bus service will operate on a Sunday schedule on May 27. Fastran will not operate on May 27. See www.fairfaxcounty.gov/connector for more information.
Libraries: All Fairfax County libraries will be closed on May 27.
Metrorail: Metrorail will run on a Sunday schedule on May 27 from 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Off-peak fares will be in effect and parking will be free at Metro lots and garages. Metro's summer shutdown of six Yellow and Blue stations south of Reagan National Airport will begin on May 25.
Metrobus: Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule on May 27. Visit www.wmata.com for more details on specific routes.
Parks: Fairfax County-operated parks are open on May 27. The Frying Pan Farm Park farm and indoor arena is open but the visitor center is closed. The Green Spring Gardens horticultural center is open but the historic house is closed. Visit www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/holiday-hours for more information.
Post offices: Closed on May 27.
Recreation centers: Open at the regular time through 6 p.m. on May 27.
Recycling: I-66 Transfer Station (4618 West Ox Road, Fairfax) and I-95 Landfill (9850 Furnace Road, Lorton) are open on May 27.
Trash pickup: Contact county and private providers for any schedule changes.
