Metro Rider Punched After Getting Off Train In Tysons

Things got a little "scary" the morning of Halloween in Tysons Corner.

TYSONS CORNER, VA—A man is facing a malicious wounding charge and others after assaulting another rider at the Tysons Corner Metro station Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Around 6:54 a.m., the two riders got off at the station in Tysons Corner. When the accused got off the train, he turned around and claimed the other rider was following him.

The man punched the victim several times and fled. He was arrested after officers started a short foot pursuit.

Jaron Ulmer, 31, of Washington D.C., was charged with malicious wounding, public intoxication and obstruction of justice. It is unclear if he knew the victim.
