More Details Released About House Fire Saturday in McLean

House under construction was two months away from being completed, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire, Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at approximately 11:30 p.m., in the McLean area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 6703 Lupine Lane.

Firefighters encountered a two-story home fully involved with fire upon arrival. A second fire alarm was struck by the Incident Commander bringing approximately 70 firefighters to the scene. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and brought the fire under control in approximately 30 minutes.

Additionally, firefighters used all available resources to protect nearby adjacent homes from residual fire exposure. The newly built home was under construction and approximately two months from completion. Three firefighters received non-life threatening injuries.

The home is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
