Pandemic Experiences Sought In Tysons Essay, Art Contest

Tysons Interfaith will give cash prizes for essays and art focused on positive lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic.

TYSONS, VA — As much as the COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted lives, it has often brought the best out in people. Tysons Interfaith, a nonprofit made up of 19 faith communities, is holding an essay and art contest on the good experiences of the pandemic.

The contest titled "A Whole New World Starts Now" seeks art and essays demonstrating positive lessons from the pandemic. Possible topics could include positive lessons learned from COVID-19, heroes they admire from the pandemic, how my faith or cultural values helped me during COVID-19, and expectations of new life adventures coming out of the pandemic.

"We thought this was a good time to let people of all ages reflect on the effects of the pandemic and their hopes for the future," said Bill Larson, president of Tysons Interfaith.
