Road Closures Continue After Wicked NoVA Rainstorm

Two to seven inches of rain soaked the DC area Saturday, leading the National Weather Service to issue a flood warning for parts. As a result, some areas saw flooded roads and downed trees and power lines.

Various road closures followed the rainstorm, some continuing into Sunday. Fairfax County Police report the following road closures as of Sunday morning:

• Old Courthouse Road at Besley Road, Tysons: High water and road damage. The road is closed for an extended period of time.
• 4700 block of Brookside Lane, Vienna, tree on power lines, road still closed
• Browns Mill Road at Rosewood Hill Drive, Vienna: Water in roadway
• Leigh Mill Road at White Chimney Lane, Great Falls: Water and debris in roadway
• Browns Mill Road at Windstone Drive, Vienna: Water in roadway
• Leigh Mill Road at Kelso Road, Great Falls: Water in roadway
• Heritage Drive at Americana Drive, Annandale: Tree down, removal process underway
• Valestra Circle at Weisiger Lane, Oakton: Tree down
