School Supplies Drive Collects More than $1,000 in Supplies
Bank of Georgetown recently partnered with Alternative House to collect the supplies for at-risk kids on the eve of a new school year.
On Saturday, Aug. 29, Bank of Georgetown partnered with Alternative House to host a school supplies drive for at-risk kids at the Giant location in McLean along Chain Bridge Road.
A spokeswoman from Bank of Georgetown confirmed the drive “was a huge success,” collecting more than $1,000 worth of school supplies and monetary donations.
Among the items collected were 29 backpacks, 74 packs of pencils, 74 packs of glue sticks, 69 packs of crayons, as well as $250 in gift card donations and $130.80 in cash donations.

The drive is still ongoing. All Bank of Georgetown branches will continue to collect school supplies through October.
