Stellina Pizzeria To Open Location At Capital One Development

Two Italian natives will bring their Neo-Neapolitan pizza and other Italian food to the Capital One development.

TYSONS, VA — A new dining option will arrive at the Capital One headquarters development in Tysons this fall. Stellina Pizzeria, a restaurant known for Neo-Neapolitan pizza and Italian street food, will open at 1610 Capital One Drive in Tysons.

This will be Stellina Pizzeria's fourth location. Other locations are in DC's Union Market and Arlington's Shirlington neighborhood, and a third will open at DC's K Street. The 4,100-square-foot Tysons restaurant will include a pizzeria dining room and bar, commissary kitchen, open air patio and Italian cafe serving coffee and pastries.

The new restaurant was announced by co-owners Antonio Matarazzo and Chef Matteo Venini.

"We anticipate 2022 to be a year of growth for Stellina," said Matarazzo. "The Capital One Center is a natural fit for our second Virginia location, with its close proximity to shoppers, office workers, and local neighbors, and we’re excited to be joining so many other homegrown DMV restaurants in the space."

Venini's menu at the Tysons location will include Neo-Neapolitan pizza, which uses Neapolitan pizza techniques with twists on toppings and dough. The menu will also offer street food inspired by Italy's southern coast, sandwiches on pizza dough, handmade pastas and salads. The bar will emphasize Italian cocktails, wines and beers.

The coffee counter will serve Filicori Zecchini Italian coffee as well as house-made Italian pastries like cannoli, millefoglie, and tiramisu. The commissary kitchen will sell pantry and frozen goods such as homemade pastas, sauces, pizzas and dough, and toppings. Commissary items at Stellina's other locations have proved popular during the pandemic through vending machines and monthly subscriptions.

Stellina Pizzeria first debuted in 2019 and has been named a Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient in 2020 and 2021. Matarazzo was raised on the southern coast of Italy and brought his knowledge to Stellina Pizzeria. Matarazzo was previously a managing partner at upscale Italian restaurants Lupo Verde, Lupo Verde Osteria and Lupo Marino. Venini, a native of northern Italy, also worked at the trio of restaurants as corporate chef and has cooked in the U.S. for over a decade.
