Tysons Firm To Expand Into The Boro Development
KPMG LLP, a professional services firm, will add 500 jobs with the expansion.

TYSONS, VA— KPMG LLP, a U.S. professional services firm, plans to expand into the future Boro development in Tysons. The $30 million expansion will add 500 jobs.
KPMG is a business solutions and audit, tax, and advisory services firm serving large organizations around the world. Tysons competed against Washington, DC for the expansion. With offices in the DC area and around the world, the firm employs 197,000 professionals in 154 countries.
"We’re committed to Fairfax County and are excited about the growth that we’re seeing here in world-class innovation and leading-edge technology – two areas that align with our own core services and strategic approach" said Jerry Carlson, who oversees KPMG professionals in the DC area.

Incentives for the expansion included a $1 million state grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund. The firm is eligible for a Major Business Facility Job Tax Credit for the new full-time positions.
"KPMG has been a major employer and corporate citizen in Fairfax County for years, and we are delighted to see that the company has chosen the county as a base to expand its audit, tax and advisory business significantly," said Gerald L. Gordon, president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority. "This coincides with the continued growth and diversification of the county economy and the increasing realization that this is a great draw for the workforce the company wants to attract and retain."

The firm also runs a program called KPMG’s Family for Literacy (KFFL) to distribute books to low-income children. KPMG’s local offices had 19 KFFL reading days at 17 DC area schools with 600 volunteers and over 20,300 book donations this year alone.
The Boro is slated to open in early 2019. The 20-story building will offer luxury apartments and condos, retail and office space. The location is adjacent to the Greensboro Metro Station, Route 7, Westpark Drive and Greensboro Drive.
