Tysons IT Business Adding 400 New Jobs
A Tysons information technology business is expanding in Tysons, creating 400 new jobs.

TYSONS, VA—A Tysons information technology company is expanding to create 400 more jobs, the company announced Thursday.
Mission Services Inc., which provides information technology services to federal agencies, is investing $820,000 to expand. Its services center around intelligence analysis, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, systems engineering, and program management support. Since 2010, it has provided the services to agencies, particularly the Department of Defense. The Tysons-based business also serves clients on four continents.
Virginia competed against Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Ohio and Texas for the expansion, according to the governor's office.

“Mission Services’ decision to grow in Fairfax County is a strong testament to the assets Virginia offers in the technology and cybersecurity sectors, including an unparalleled IT infrastructure, cutting-edge education programs and training, and a robust pipeline of talent,” said Gov. Terry McAuliffe in a statement. “Enhancing the strength of these industries is vital to building the new Virginia economy."

The company says the proximity to federal agencies and a trained workforce influenced the decision to expand. The region is also one of the largest data centers for internet traffic.
Technology is one of Fairfax County's most crucial industries, with one of every four jobs being in technology. The county has more than 8,900 technology-related businesses, according to the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority. IT is also one of the fastest growing industries in Virginia. Over the last decade, the state has added nearly 50,000 IT jobs.
“The Tysons Corner area is a great location for MSI to be close to the company’s clientele, close to the skilled talent it needs to help fulfill the missions of those customers, and in an exciting area that has so much to offer companies and employees," said Gerald Gordon, president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority.
Mission Services Inc. is located at 7926 Jones Branch Dr, McLean.
