World Cup-Themed Events Coming To The Boro In Tysons This Summer

TYSONS, VA — The Boro will host two World Cup-themed community events this summer in partnership with COPA Tysons, a flagship initiative led by the Tysons Community Alliance.

The events will bring soccer fans together at The Boro Tysons, located at 8350 Broad St., for family-friendly activities, live match viewing, giveaways and appearances from soccer personalities.

The first event, The Boro FC, is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, from 12 to 2 p.m. A rain date is set for Sunday, June 28, from 12 to 2 p.m.

The Boro FC will feature a World Cup-inspired playground with activities for fans of all ages. The event will include photo opportunities with Talon, the D.C. United mascot, along with a live DJ, soccer-inspired games and giveaways from COPA Tysons.

Guests can also take part in soccer challenges, pop-up play zones and skills activities led by a coach. A mobile gaming truck will offer soccer-themed video games, and local soccer clubs will be on site to share information about how community members can get involved.

Younger fans can participate in World Cup-inspired crafts, while guests of all ages can get soccer-themed glitter tattoos.

The Boro Biergarten, a new community hangout launched this month, will offer stadium-style bites, global-inspired food and soccer-themed offerings during the event.

The second event, the World Cup Watch Party at The Boro, is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, starting at 5 p.m.

The watch party will include viewing of two World Cup quarterfinal matches at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Soccer personalities Bruce Murray and Dave Johnson will emcee from 7 to 9 p.m.

COPA Tysons will host an interactive fan zone with free play activities. Fans can also receive complimentary T-shirts and other giveaways from COPA Tysons while supplies last.

Food and drinks will be available from The Boro Biergarten throughout the event.

Both events are free and open to the public, but registration is encouraged through Eventbrite.
