Zara, Maggiano’s, Summer Movie Nights Coming To Tysons Corner Center

TYSONS, VA — Tysons Corner Center is kicking off summer with new retail and dining openings, outdoor movie nights, soccer watch parties, wellness events, live music and public art.

The shopping center's summer programming will take place on PenFed Plaza, where guests can attend family movie nights, Wellness Sunday events, retailer pop-ups and other seasonal activities, according to a release.

New openings this summer include Zara, Kurt Geiger, Maggiano’s and Sloomoo Institute, each bringing a different retail, dining or entertainment option to the center.

New Stores And Restaurants

Zara is now open in an expanded and modernized store at Tysons Corner Center. The retailer, founded in Spain in 1975, sells women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, along with accessories, shoes and beauty products. The new store includes digital shopping tools and dedicated areas for online order pickup and returns.

Kurt Geiger, a London-based footwear and accessories brand, is also now open. The store features handbags, sandals, shoes and accessories from the brand, which has been expanding in the United States with locations in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando and San Diego.

Maggiano’s is now open at Tysons Corner Center, offering Italian-American dining for lunch and dinner. The restaurant includes three private event spaces that can accommodate groups of 50 to 150 guests. Menu items include Rigatoni D, Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, Gigi’s Buttercake and Tiramisu.

Sloomoo Institute is scheduled to open in July. The 17,000-square-foot slime experience will span two levels and include slime-making classes, private birthday parties, a DIY Design Bar, floral scents and interactive installations.

Summer Events On PenFed Plaza

Tysons Corner Center’s family movie nights will return this summer on PenFed Plaza with showings on the center’s new large-format digital board.

The series begins Thursday, June 19, with “Space Jam.” Additional showings include “National Treasure” on Thursday, July 17, and “Cars” on Thursday, Aug. 21. The August showing will include a collaboration with PenFed Credit Union tied to the movie’s auto theme.

All movie nights are scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring stadium folding chairs or blankets.

The center will also host Copa Tysons Watch Parties from July 10 through July 19. The events will include public match viewings, pre-party soccer events, live music, giveaways, food and beverage specials and post-game events on PenFed Plaza.

Other summer programming will include Wellness Sundays’ Strength & Sculpt Series with Lindsay Bishop, family game nights, live music and retailer pop-ups.

Tysons Corner Center has also expanded “Golden Natured,” a mural by Asheville, North Carolina-based artist Kathryn Crawford. The mural, located between Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s, now extends across two large sections of the Green Garage façade and adds more than 5,800 square feet of gold and green artwork to the property.
