Applications Now Accepted for

Jackson Casey Memorial Scholarships

The Board of Directors of the Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Association
has announced a call for applications for the 2014 Jackson Casey
Memorial Scholarships, named in honor of a Ft. Hunt athlete who passed
away in 2011.

“These scholarships are a way for Jackson’s light and enthusiasm for
sports to live on through the recipients,” said Bob Burton, Chairman of
the FHYAA Board. “This is something that the family wanted to do to help
remember the joy and fun that sports used to bring to Jackson’s life.”

The $1,500 scholarships will be awarded annual to two graduating
seniors (1 male, 1 female) who at some point in their athletic careers
participated on a Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Association team. Each
applicant will be asked to submit a 1,200 word essay describing the life
lessons they’ve learned through participating in athletics

Applications are now being accepted at on the Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Website. The application deadline is May 9.
