Back to School Sale continues at Sherwood Library Bookstore

The Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore will be open as usual on Wednesday, September 11 and Sunday, September 15, with extended hours, 1 - 5 PM. The big Back to School Sale at the bookstore continues through September 15, every afternoon from 1-5 PM. Sherwood Regional Library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

During the Back to School Sale, ALL children’s and young adult specially priced books are half off the sticker prices. Also included in the sale are resources for teachers and homeschool leaders, with discounts for educators. In addition, also available at half price are holiday books for all ages.

Meanwhile, on the special price table, new additions include “KGB: The Inside Story” by Christopher Andrew and Oleg Gordievsky; “D’Aulaires’ Book of Greek Myths”; the complete boxed set in paperback (13 volumes) of “Touring North America” from Rutgers University Press; and a beautiful hardcover double-folio size book of “Horses” by James Kingston.

Please note: the library’s elevator to the second floor is out of order and is likely to remain so through mid-October. Volunteers are able to assist with large volume purchases.

TEMPORARY LIBRARY CLOSING

October 3 through 14

The library will be completely closed for maintenance from October 3 through October 14. No admittance for staff, volunteers, or patrons.

We will not be able to accept donations from September 29 until the library reopens on October 15.

The Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore will have a pre-closing clearance sale starting on September 22. All inventory will be half price, including regular and special price items, from September 22 until October 2.

Our bookstore and support of the library depend on donations by members of the community. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in clean, resalable condition. Currently we are in special need of paperback mystery, science fiction, and romance. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes. For large-volume donations (for example, multiple boxes or hundreds of items) please call the bookstore in advance to facilitate staff coordination: 703-718-8206.

Items from the ongoing book sale in the first floor hallway and in the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open.
