This Chicken Fricassee recipe is not only perfect comfort food for a cold winter's night, but it's also (allegedly) one of Abraham Lincoln's favorite dinners.
There are many different ways to cook this. My version is easy, healthy, and frugal. I make the entire dish in a Dutch Oven. You can also brown the chicken in a skillet and transfer to a slow cooker. But why make two items dirty when you only need one?
Everything I've read about this dish is that it was one of Abraham Lincoln's favorite dinners. When you celebrate President's Day this weekend, why not have this wonderful one-dish comfort food?
Chicken Fricassee goes great with green beans. You can also serve it on a bed of egg noodles.
