As you might expect from a brewer, I'm constantly on the lookout for new beers, especially new local beers. Over my years of drinking craft brews I've found that I always seem to reach for the local guy, and not just because I prefer local. Local beer generally means fresher beer, and when two brews are similar in almost every other way, fresh (and on tap if at all possibly) sways it for me. So you might guess that I keep abreast of what is going on around me.
The NoVa / DC area has just about exploded with craft beer, from almost none 5 years ago to now everything from Nano / Pico breweries like mine to large scale, multi state spanning operations. I'm not only excited because now I can get something local on tap almost everywhere, but because this area, with this beer crowd, can support even more breweries.
I wanted to give a list of those breweries that you should take a look at if you haven't already as well as some upcoming breweries in the area.
