Fairfax County to Hold 'Meowloween' in Honor of Furry Friends
Lots of specials, spooky fun at Fairfax County animal shelter in October.

Thinking about adopting a new pet? Fairfax County is making it easy with lots of specials coming up in October. Here’s information about a Halloween-themed event coming up, courtesy of Fairfax County:
Halloween is just one day, but the Animal Shelter’s 2nd Annual Meowloween lasts all month long. Visit the Animal Shelter in October to take part in a host of events and programs as we highlight shelter cats and kittens.

- Free Gift Bags. Anyone adopting an orange and/or black cat will receive a gift bag full of goodies for their new furry friend.
- $5 Feline Fridays. Adopt any cat six months or older for just $5! Cost includes spay or neuter, vaccines and a personalized collar and tag courtesy of the Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter
- ‘Caturdays!’ Stop by any Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to talk to a Cat expert, who can answer questions about cat and kitten health and behavior.
- National Feral Cat Day Seminar. Attend a FREE workshop at the shelter on October 16 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. to learn more about caring for outdoor cats in your community.
Don’t miss the highlight of this year’s Meowloween. This year’s Family Halloween Adopt-a-thon will take place from Thursday, October 30 – Sunday, November 2. All adoption fees for cats, dogs and small animals will be half off. In addition, there will be lots of spooky fun for the whole family, including tricks and treats for people and animals.
