Friends of Sherwood Bookstore Prepares for Back to School Sale

This week the Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore is open Wednesday 1-4 PM and Sunday 1-3 PM. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22309.

Recent donations include a cart-full of history and biography, and a 50-volume set of Harvard Classics’ “The 5-Foot Shelf of Books” from 1937-38. The set also includes one volume of Lectures from 1914. We have thousands of children's books, many in like new condition, as well as history and biography, cooking, poetry, plays, classics, and much more. We have shelves full of CDs and DVDs, and a box of vinyl records.

Mark your calendars now for our once-a-year Back to School Sale, running from August 30 – September 6, every afternoon from 1 – 5 PM (closed Labor Day) and 10 - 4 September 2. All specially priced items will be half off – including children’s books. Regular price kids’ books: buy one, get one free. $5 bag sale on adult fiction, with some exceptions.

Did you know our inventory is donated by members of the community? In advance of our back to school sale we would greatly appreciate donations of kids’ games and puzzles, good quality books and electronic media in resalable condition. We currently are in special need of audio books and CDs; please no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts available for tax purposes.
