Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore also open Saturday

Bookstore features vintage and antiquarian volumes in November; also holiday books. Recognizes Native American Month.

This week the Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore is open Wednesday from 1 – 4 PM, Saturday 10 AM – 4 PM, and Sunday from 1-3 PM. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

November is a busy month at the Bookstore.

On November 4 & 5 we will feature old, vintage, and antiquarian books, including some that are first editions or out of print. Although many show their age they are generally well bound and in readable condition. We will have an entire rack of these books. These will sell for $1 each unless a book has a special price sticker. Depending on interest and donations, this might become a permanent feature at the Bookstore.

Also on November 4 & 5 we will bring out our complete selection of holiday books: fiction, seasonal crafts, cookbooks, inspirational, and, of course, children’s. Many items are gift quality. After the 5th these books will disappear until December.

In recognition of November as Native American Month, we are dedicating an entire bookcase to items connected to American Indians.

Did you know our inventory is donated by members of the community? We greatly appreciate donations of kids’ games and puzzles, good quality books and electronic media in resalable condition. We currently are in special need of audio books and CDs; please no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
