Friends of Sherwood Library Bookstore has holiday gifts

The bookstore will be open regular hours on Wednesday, 1-4 PM and Sunday, 1-3 PM. Items from the ongoing booksale on the first floor hallway and the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

Still looking for that perfect holiday gift? Visit the bookstore for an unusual vintage volume, or a like-new 2018 book, and tuck one of our $5 gift certificates inside. Certificates may be used on any bookstore item and never expire.

This month the bookstore has a separate holiday section in the second floor lobby. Children’s books, many in like-new condition, holiday fiction for adults, craft and baking books, electronic media, and miscellaneous seasonal items, all available at hard-to-believe prices. Also in the lobby is a table of brand-new books for children and teens. If the bookstore is not open, you may make your purchase at one of the library’s kiosks.

We’ve received a generous donation of 35 volumes in the “Great Illustrated Classics” series for children. These hardcover books have large print and are heavily illustrated, making them a perfect introduction to the original stories.

Did you know our inventory is donated by members of the community? Our bookstore and support of the library depend on your generosity. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.

EVERY SUNDAY, during our regular bookstore hours (1 to 3 PM), Special Price books located in the Special Price room are half off their sticker price. All books with a red "slash" through the price sticker qualify for this special sale. New books are added weekly. This discount is ONLY available during Sunday sales and excludes children's books. Look for the red slash and enjoy lower prices!
